TIVAN+ is an advanced critical minerals processing technology designed to commercialise the extraction of minerals from vanadiferous titanomagnetite (VTM) ore bodies while reducing environmental impacts.
Developed in partnership with CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, the TIVAN+ process produces three commercial-grade commodities—Vanadium, Titanium and Iron. By securing these three revenue streams, TIVAN+ aims to provide a technically and commercially viable pathway for development of VTM resources on a worldwide basis.
TIVAN+ is a sovereign capability and critical technology. It involves a complex hydrometallurgical engineering process, protected by global patents. Through our collaboration with CSIRO, Tivan is advancing the boundaries of research and development in the critical minerals sector.
Across the full-cycle value chain, TIVAN+ has the potential to play a key role in the commercialisation of vanadium redox flow batteries (VFB), a groundbreaking technology invented in Australia by Professor Maria Skyllas-Kazacos, a valued member of our Technical Advisory Group.
Following the publication of the TIVAN+ testwork results in Q2 2024, Tivan has received significant third-party interest in the technology, including from VTM resource owners in Australia and internationally.
Tivan has a long-term commercial and strategic partnership with CSIRO, through a Technology Licence Agreement and a Research Services Agreement. Tivan holds the exclusive global rights (excluding India) to the TIVAN+ processing technology.
